Hey Mike: "I wanted to tell you how much I love this cd – especially Bach in My Garden! Sincerely, Megan"

"Sojourn" is an introspective journey that reminds of the treacherous path that was walked by many pioneers so long ago. The music sends us along a trail with many curves, hills and valleys, a musical metaphor of life. The soft melodies of the title track "Sojourn", feel like a lullaby, but the lyrics urge us to awaken to our journey. Emily Christensen's, "Bach in My Garden", lures us into a garden as she shares a moment that is forever fleeting with her daughter amongst the birds and bees to a distant feel of Bach. The instrumental and sung versions of Walk the Path of Faith are beautiful and inspiring. Rock Creek Hollow is one of the most moving of the tracks, it's melody tricks the ear to a lighter story, but it's lyrics tell a tale of the harrowing journey across the plains, where the past and the future meet, where the same path is walked by each generation, each step as important as the last. Greg Ericksen's finishing track speeds up the tempo and pulls the dream into focus, showing that all paths are part of the voyage. Mike Ericksen's work is compelling and its depth alludes to the fact that things are not always as they seem. Maybe it isn't so much about the destination, but the journey....

Unsung
"I took Unsung in to work today and made my coworker listen to it. She LOVED Baby's Blue Eyes too - said it made her want to cry! I am so excited to give them out to my friends - thanks so much for the extras! ...I have replaced my phantom cd with your Unsung - which is now my new favorite....

Baby's Blue Eyes ...I absolutely love it....That song just took me right back to that place when my kids were little - made me want to smile and cry at the same time. And the way you did Jenny's lullaby – fabulous."

"We received a copy of your music....... loved it."

"Your music is outstanding! The music stayed in my soul, thank you."

Empath
"I put in the video and watched it with some of the family. Needless to say...it was a little hard holding back the tears. I would have sworn that the music was written for the video footage. It was beautiful. I seldom find myself lost for words when I can resort to the written word, but I confess, I find myself....speechless. Perhaps, the fewer words, the better. I know a few places that "Empath" needs to reach. I will be sure it finds its way there. Wondering about the title...what it means. Carla asked if Emily was actually sitting at the site of the rescue when she was playing her guitar. I thought that was an insightful question. Thank you so much for the copy....and....for preserving our heritage and our history."

"I've also watched the DVD several times and am moved by the beauty and spirit

of the music. What a contrast with "music videos" kids see these days."

"the quality of singing/playing and photography are outstanding. I am sending this link around to all of my friends who like the pioneer life. You have all done and excellent work in keeping alive the memory of our pioneers."
